Cross-Border Tax Attorney for Americans Living in France

I am a Tax Attorney registered with the Paris and Barcelona Bar, holding tax LL.M. degrees from Rennes 1 Law School and Queen Mary University of London. I am a member of the International Fiscal Association and the Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux.

I work with Americans whose life or money crosses into France, whether they are moving here or simply own a house, a business interest, or an investment on this side. My clients often do not fit the standard relocation checklist: an executive who may qualify for the French inpatriate regime, an owner of a U.S. LLC or S-corp that French law will not characterize the way they expect, or a non-resident holding French real estate through a structure that quietly changed the tax outcome.

Having spent a decade living outside my own country, I can tell clients which questions have to be answered before they act, and which can safely wait.

I've spoken at The American University of Paris on starting a business in France, covering taxes, structure, and international strategy. I also write regularly on French and cross-border tax developments, both on my website and on LinkedIn.

About Yatax

I founded Yatax after several years in the international tax practices of major Paris firms. What I saw there is how cross-border advice usually reaches people in fragments: the U.S. accountant files the U.S. return, someone in France files the French one, the financial advisor runs the portfolio, and nobody owns the space between them. That space is exactly where the French treatment of an LLC, a 401(k) distribution, a stock plan, or French property held from abroad gets decided, and it is where expensive mistakes get made.

Yatax is small by design. One lawyer knows the file from start to finish and sits in the calls with the client's CPA, U.S. attorney, and financial advisor, so the French position is built alongside the U.S. one instead of bolted on afterward. The practice centers on the moments that decide the outcome: residence and timing before a move, inpatriate status for relocating executives, the French characterization of U.S. entities and retirement plans, the structuring of French real estate held from the U.S., and the reporting that follows.

Outside the Office

I sail whenever I can, and I spend the rest of my time off traveling slowly enough to actually meet people and see how differently things are done elsewhere.
