Cross-Border Insurance Broker for U.S.-Swiss Families

I am an independent insurance broker focused on life, long-term disability, long-term care, and annuity planning for Americans and Swiss nationals with ties to both countries. I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from Kent State University, with minors in International Business and Business Management, and I completed semesters abroad in Florence and Geneva.

My interest in cross-border planning started early. My great-grandfather emigrated from Switzerland to the U.S. in 1929. I began my career with five years in risk management, investments, and financial planning at a Fortune 100 company, then moved to a U.S.-Swiss cross-border financial planning and tax firm, where I worked with globally mobile clients.

I help Americans relocating to Switzerland, Swiss nationals settling in the U.S., dual citizens, and cross-border couples find coverage they can actually qualify for. I know which carriers accept clients with foreign residency or citizenship, and how those factors affect underwriting.

Swiss American Risk is an independent insurance brokerage serving families with U.S.-Switzerland ties. It grew out of a cross-border planning practice and has focused on this client base since 2021.

Cross-border families often find that insurers treat foreign residency and income differently, and some U.S. carriers limit or decline coverage altogether. Tax reporting and inheritance rules also differ between the two countries, which can complicate an otherwise sound plan.

As an independent brokerage, the firm compares options across the market rather than representing a single carrier. It works alongside each client’s attorney, tax professional, and wealth advisor so that insurance coverage fits the broader financial and estate plan.

Outside the Office

I lift weights five to six days a week and travel whenever I can, with 14 countries visited so far. Skydiving over the Swiss Alps remains my favorite adventure.
